The Surge Test in Issue 3, Table 4-3 requires up to 2000V at 200A to cover the range contemplated in the Table.
If these tests are to be done, this tester can also be used in place of the 10x1000s-1 for tests in Table 4-2, 4-11 and 4-15 of Issue 3.
GR-1089, Issue 3, Table 4-3, Surge 1:
MegaPulse 10x1000s-2 - Peak output voltage is adjustable up to 2000 volts minimum, peak short circuit current is 200A minimum. A switch is provided for reversal of output polarity. Optional divider network available for oscilloscope connection.
Waveform generated is 10x1000x10/1000, Vp= 2000V. To perform the test, the front panel voltage meter is set to the voltage as determined by the test suite described in Paragraph 4.6.7.1, Protection Coordination. The 10 ohm output tap is used for this test.
Two output taps are provided, one with Zout=6 ohm and one with Zout=10 ohm, to allow performance of Surge Tests in Issue 3, Paragraphs 4-2, 4-11, and 4-15.
Enclosure is 19 x 3U, rack mountable (3U enclosure)
Outputs are isolated.
This tester can be configured with one, two, three or four outputs for testing in accordance with Table 4-1 Test Condition B
MegaPulse 10x1000s-1-1 (1000V peak, one output)
MegaPulse 10X1000s-1-2 (1000V peak, two outputs)
MegaPulse 10x1000s-2-2 (2000V peak, two outputs)
Option RI: PLC Interface Relay Board.
Option BNCV: 1000:1 Voltage BNC output
