
There are two surge tests included in Table 4-9. The equipment offered to perform these tests is described below. Most MegaPulse equipment offered for testing to GR-1089 can be used for other tests as well. We have cross-referenced the information here. This equipment is identical to the equipment used to conduct the tests in Issue 2, Table 4-13 or Issue 3, Table 4-15, First Level Lightning Tests with an external protector. Differences are in the footnotes of the Tables only.
Issues : Enclosure is 19 x 3U, rack mountable (3U enclosure)
Outputs are isolated.
(Note: If the tests in Issue 3, Table 4-3 are to be conducted, the model 10x1000s-2 should be specified in lieu of this tester.)
This tester is configured with two outputs for testing two-wire products in accordance with Table 4-1 Test Condition A.
Additional outputs for four-wire testing, as needed, up to four.

MegaPulse 10x250s-2 - Peak output voltage is 2000 volts minimum, peak short circuit current is 1000A minimum. A switch is provided for reversal of output polarity. Optional divider network available for oscilloscope connection.
Waveform generated is 10x250/10x250, Vp= 2000V. To perform the Surge 2 test, the front panel voltage meter is set to 2000V.
