The Surge Test described here requires an output voltage of 5000Vpeak. The waveform is the same as our MegaPulse 2x10s-2.5 used for the tests in Table 4-2, Surge 4, and the tests in Issue 1 and 2, Table 4-4, and Issue 3, Table 4-5. If any of these other tests are contemplated, the 2x10s-5 should be substituted. For a list of cross-references of GR-1089 tests to MegaPulse equipment, click here.
GR-1089, Issue 1 and 2, Table 4-3, and Issue 3, Table 4-4:
MegaPulse 2x10s-5 - Peak output voltage is adjustable up to 5000 volts minimum, peak short circuit current is 500A minimum. A switch is provided for reversal of output polarity. Optional divider network available for oscilloscope connection. Waveform generated is 2x10/2x10, Vp= 5000V. To perform the test, the front panel voltage meter is set to 5000V and the 10 ohm tap is used. Five output taps are provided so other tests in GR-1089 can be conducted. Zout=2.5, 5, 8, 10 and 15 ohm.
Enclosure is 19 x 3U, rack mountable (3U enclosure)
Outputs are isolated.
