
The 1000V 10x360 First-Level Lightning Surge on 12 pairs (24 conductors) is now available from Compliance West.

The MegaPulse 10x360.12Pair outputs the Surges required by GR-1089 Issue 4 Table 4-2, First-Level Lightning Surge, Surge 5 for 12 pair. Any combination of pairs can be tested with the MegaPulse 10x360.12Pair. Unused pairs are simply left open during the test.
All outputs are in accordance with the tolerance requirements of GR-1089 4th Edition, Appendix A.
Also available is our MegaPulse 10x360.6Pair for testing up to 12 conductors simultaneously to ground.
MegaPulse 10x360.12Pair:
A standalone solution for performing the 10x360 symmetrical First-Level Lightning Surge Test, Surge 5. As required in the Standard, the MegaPulse 10x360.12Pair allows simultaneous testing of up to 12 pair with each wire connected to ground. This 24 channel tester is capable of powering all channels with 25A per channel, with each channel connected to ground simultaneously. Even under these conditions the output is within the tolerances of GR-1089, Issue 4, Appendix A.
To operate the tester, the operator selects the polarity desired by pushing the POLARITY button until the desired polarity is lit, then pushes the CHARGE button, waits until the desired voltage appears on the front panel meter, and then presses TEST. This simple and economical manual tester gets the job done.
This test requires 5 pulses at each polarity to be delivered to the DUT. In order to accomodate the need to automate this testing to free laboratory personnel, we designed this tester to optionally include TestMinder, our computer controlled multiple test manager. The test sequence, including polarity changes, can be entered on the computer screen and the pulses will be delivered under precise computer control. For our TestMinder computer control, order Option TMM. Should control via PLC be desired, order our Option RI.
